Good morning, and happy Monday!

I hope everybody is doing well and trying their best to stay happy and healthy. Before I give you your assignment for this week, I want to remind you that communication is the most important thing in our class. If you have any problems with the activity or any doubts about vocabulary/grammar, please contact me! I know we are not physically present in class, but I am still here to support you and help you learn. I answer questions through email, whatsapp, and even video calls if necessary.

Please read the following information for this week:
1. Many people have not yet sent me their quarantorial videos! Please do this as soon as possible, and let me know if you have any problems.

2. Please send me week two of your quarantine diary.

3. This week I want you to connect with your classmates. You will complete an audio interview with one other person. You can choose a partner from our class, or from teacher Benjamin or teacher Aswini's classes. Using Whatsapp, facetime, or phone calls, you will ask the following questions and write their answers in your notebook:

Name of partner
How you completed the interview (Whatsapp video, Whatsapp audio, Facetime, etc)
1. Who are you in quarantine with?
2. How have you been feeling?
3. Do you miss Liceo Científico? Why or why not?
4. Have you left your house since quarantine began?
5. What is something that makes you happy?
6. Have you watched a good movie/series?
7. What is the first thing you will do when quarantine is over?
8. Invent your own question*
9. Invent your own question*
10. Invent your own question*

*For questions 8-10, please write the questions you invented in your notebook.

Please make sure to include the name of your partner in your notebook. Remember that the goal of this activity is to practice speaking in English! Please contact me with any questions.

Have a great week!

Class #4: English - Week 4 (4/20/20-4/27/20)

This week, you will complete the following activities:

1. Continue with your daily diary. Remember that you should have one entry per day (Monday-Friday) and that Saturday and Sunday are optional. I hope this can be an activity that you enjoy! If you have not turned in your diary from last week, please send it to me as soon as possible.

2. This week we are going to do something a little different, and hopefully fun! You are going to create Quarantorial (Quarantine tutorials) describing how to do normal, daily quarantine activities. Here you can watch my example video about how to watch Netflix in quarantine: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qLkbfnCE4Oc&feature=youtu.be. These videos should be fun, and should be silly! You can describe how to do anything: how to take classes online, how to get ready (arreglarse) in quarantine, how to make lunch, how to play a game, etc. Be creative and have fun! Here are the instructions:
  1. Choose a normal activity, and make a video of your quarantorial! (Quarantine tutorial!)
  2. Each video must have at least 5 steps (pasos).
  3. The video must have audio!
  4. Send your video to teacher Alyana by Monday, April 27th.
If you have any problems, please let me know and we will find an alternative task.

I hope you enjoyed Semana Santa and were able to relax a little.

The current situation is very complicated, and I think it's very important to recognize and understand your feelings. This week, your homework is to create a quarantine diary. Each day (Monday-Friday) I want you to write a short paragraph about your quarantine. I will give extra credit if you also complete the diary for Saturday and Sunday.

In your paragraphs you can talk about anything you want, but here are some ideas of questions you can answer:

1. What did you do today?
2. How are you feeling today? Why?
3. How is your family?
4. What are you worried about?
5. What do you hope for the future?

It's not necessary to write very long paragraphs! You will send me your quarantine diary for Monday, April 20th. I hope you enjoy this activity! Writing is one of the best ways to express and understand what we are feeling.
