English as a Foreign Language (EFL) Program - Teaching Fellowship

We are recruiting native language english speakers to become Teaching Fellows that will strengthen our existing EFL (English as a Foreign Language) program, run our Saturday Academy and afterschool EFL programs, and serve as as mentors for local Dominican teachers in training, who after a year of professional support, become full-fledged teachers. The program will use KINDLE Fires as well as traditional paper books to propel a literary culture. These programs are being piloted with a start-up grant from the United States Embassy Small Grants Program.

EFL Fellows will receive a 300 USD living stipend, airfare from the USA, free shared housing and lunch, and trasnportation to/from the school. Fellows are expected to work 3 school days per week, plus saturdays, but have the rest of the week off.
This is an exceptional opportunity for recent college graduates who seek to enter international teaching or domestic teaching positions, as it provides unique opportunities for learning to teach talented hispanic students in the context of a center for educational innovation, that is at the center of school reform in Dominican Republic.

The position is open immediately and extends into July 2016, with the possibility of renewal.
